Every movement has an origin. Every ripple begins at a single point. Ours began with one simple question...
and the answer changed everything.
The Question That Changed Everything
We had always dreamed of growing our family through adoption.
After completing the process, we were thrilled to receive the news that we had been approved.
Then David asked a simple question.
"Are there enough children in the system for everyone who wants to adopt?"
The answer was one we never expected.
"There are so many children in the system... there weren't enough toys for them last Christmas."
That answer became the butterfly.
The butterfly became a ripple.
The ripple became a toy drive.
The toy drive became a movement.
The movement became Team Rudd Foundation.
In that moment, everything changed.
We couldn't change the world overnight.
But we could make sure a few more children woke up smiling that Christmas.
That single decision became the center of every ripple that followed.
The First Christmas
Team Rudd Foundation didn't begin as a foundation.
It began with four collection boxes and a simple hope that a few children might wake up to something special on Christmas morning.
Our first partners believed in that hope before anyone knew where it would lead.

Together, those three locations helped collect about 200 toys during our very first holiday drive.
Looking back, 200 toys may not seem like much.
But when a child has nothing...
something is everything.
That Christmas didn't just change the lives of the children who received those gifts.
It changed ours.
We discovered that kindness is contagious.
Once we experienced what a community could accomplish together, we knew this couldn't be our last Christmas.
The first Christmas became a tradition.
The tradition became a promise.
The Ripple Grew
We thought we were organizing a toy drive.
Instead, we were building a community.
Each Christmas, more people wanted to help.
A business offered another collection box.
A family donated a bicycle.
A school held a classroom competition.
Volunteers wrapped gifts.
Friends invited friends.
Neighbors inspired neighbors.
Before long, the ripple was spreading far beyond anything we had imagined.
